uberX

THE LOW-COST UBER
UberX is the most basic private car service that Uber has to offer, and it's also Uber's lowest-cost option. Uber X is very affordable, and is generally much cheaper than a traditional yellow cab. The basics: UberX vehicles hold a maximum of 4 passengers.

Uber Kuala Lumpur Review

I haven't had the reason to use Uber in Kuala Lumpur, but many of my friends raved about the car-sharing app and said that they couldn't live without it.

All I know about Uber is that it seems to create ripples everywhere it goes. Uber riders may love it, but governments seem inclined to ban it. There's always some form of protest when it comes to town!

In Malaysia, it's the same. Taxi associations have been protesting Uber's encroachment upon its ricebowl, and I've even seen "No Grabcar" (another Uber-like app) spray painted at a bus stop once - as if the taxis could claim sole right to pick up passengers there.

When I had to go to Penang for a holiday, I was recommended Uber to get around. Since I couldn't afford taxi everywhere I went I thought I'd give it a shot.

USING UBER

Using the app is really easy. So you just download the app to your smartphone, and then click on the icon and you're ready to use it. Then, you set your pick up point, and then where you want to be dropped off.

You can also get a fare estimate.

What I love about the app is how it shows you where Uber cabs are in the vicinity. When you book a Uber ride, you will be informed about your driver's Name, car type, plate number and be given his phone number.

Usually you (or the driver) will call the driver to tell him exactly where you want to be picked up.

Wow, I have to say that I am amazed at how cheap it is. RM5 to get to Eastern & Oriental from Times Square, and RM7 to get to Botanic Gardens from Times Square... this is quite affordable, especially to my friends who had the mighty Aussie dollar.

Uber Kuala Lumpur Review

I've used Uber quite a bit around Bukit Bintang and really liked it. Prices are very reasonable, cars are new and clean (typically Toyota Camry's) and I don't need to haggle with the driver like in the red budget taxis.

A tiny problem is that some of the drivers don't seem to be able to locate the pick-up address very well (whether the problem is their geographic knowledge or the Uber app I don't know), and since I'm signed up for Uber with a Singapore phone number and use my Malaysian Maxis SIM card in Malaysia he can't call me.

But apart from that it's great.

Our Trip History

On a snowy Paris evening in 2008, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp had trouble hailing a cab. So they came up with a simple idea—tap a button, get a ride.

What started as an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas is now changing the logistical fabric of cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

For the women and men who drive with Uber, our app represents a flexible new way to earn money. For cities, we help strengthen local economies, improve access to transportation, and make streets safer. When you make transportation as reliable as running water, everyone benefits. Especially when it’s snowing outside.

KL uber

With an expected 2.5 autos per family unit, it's no big surprise driving in KL can be unpleasant. We should not specify the shortage of taxicabs or even their drivers awful states of mind. So how's one to move from indicate A B effortlessly? Enter Uber, and it even gives you a chance to do it in style.

After 14 different urban communities in the Asia Pacific area and a month of trials in our capital city, the premium auto booking application and administration is at last here in Malaysia.

For the ignorant, Uber is an administration where clients, through their application, can lease an auto with its own particular driver, to convey you to your goal. Clients simply need to sign into the application/web, ask for an auto and blast, one will set out toward your area. The application itself will have the capacity to pinpoint your area for pickup, and give you the points of interest of the limo and driver. It'll even lets you know the evaluated time of entry, and an ongoing area guide of the auto. Clever.

However, what's the distinction amongst Uber and a taxi booking application like MyTeksi? It's the premiumness of the administration. Where MyTeksi connects you with taxi drivers around the city, Uber does it with limo administrations. Don't imagine it any other way however, Uber is not a taxi benefit yet rather a lead era or interfacing administration amongst clients and limo organizations. Furthermore, in light of the fact that it is limo organizations that is being locked in, the rates will be more pricier than your commonplace taxi rates. Base rates begins from RM 7, with extra RM 0.30 every moment or RM 2 every hour attached onto your adventure. So a normal ride from KLCC to KL Sentral will be between RM 26 to RM 33. We know it's not shabby but rather there's a reason it's been attached as a premium administration. In addition, with the Toyota Camry's that'll be the method of transport and part the UberBlack auto benefit, some may discover it conventionally evaluated. Did we specify SOME?

Unfrotunately the administration is, for the time being, constrained to the Kuala Lumpur and KLIA territories however it'll be extended as time advance and request increments.

On the off chance that you require more subtle elements on getting around in style with Uber, you can go to their site or download the application for iOS here and Android here.
