I've used Uber quite a bit around Bukit Bintang and really liked it. Prices are very reasonable, cars are new and clean (typically Toyota Camry's) and I don't need to haggle with the driver like in the red budget taxis.
A tiny problem is that some of the drivers don't seem to be able to locate the pick-up address very well (whether the problem is their geographic knowledge or the Uber app I don't know), and since I'm signed up for Uber with a Singapore phone number and use my Malaysian Maxis SIM card in Malaysia he can't call me.
But apart from that it's great.
